Hello Friends, this is Patricia and I want to thank you for coming to my shop, Luz Jewelry Design. The pieces of jewelry I have been making are a real labor of love for me, and I am happy to share them with you.
I am originally from the small town of Oruro in the South American country of Bolivia. I had recently been in Bolivia unfortunately for my mother’s funeral after she had passed away suddenly. It is in my mother’s honor that I named my business. Her name was Luz Carmen, hence the name of my jewelry boutique.
While in Bolivia at that time, I had talked with one of my cousins who told me that she was making and selling jewelry in her town of Cochabamba. As anyone knows, jobs are few and far between in my country, and so my cousin showed me her business how she worked on something she loved.
When I returned to the USA, I found myself compelled to begin beading, making jewelry and learning everything I could about this craft. It helped occupy my mind from thinking about how I missed my mom so much. About a month later my aunt arrived from Bolivia to help me and my husband with my children, which is something my mother had been doing when she visited us frequently here in the U.S.. My aunt encouraged me to design and create some good jewelry when I had free time.
It was a real pleasure and work of love to make these pieces. I often get to think about my mom and our good memories while I make the pieces and I am making some great beautiful items that I can share with you. If you should purchase one of my pieces, I know and hope that it will bring you as much pleasure to wear, as it has been created in love.
